    Job Description

    The QMM Technician supports the Quality Management & Methods (QMM) organization by performing quality verification, inspection, measurement, testing, and data management activities critical to manufacturing shop floor and lab operations. This role is responsible for ESD compliance verification, Inspection Measurement and Testing (IMT) data management, operation of measurement and analytical equipment, and analysis of quality trends.

    The scope and complexity of responsibilities may vary based on experience level, with opportunities to support advanced measurement activities, data analysis, and work direction of other technicians.

    Key Responsibilities:
    ESD Compliance & Audits

    • Perform routine ESD audits within cleanroom areas and the Q&C laboratory
    • Inspect and document ESD workstation compliance (grounding, mats, wrist straps, heel straps, etc.)
    • Record, maintain, and trend ESD measurements in the QMM database
    • Identify, document, and escalate ESD nonconformances or equipment issues
    • Apply, verify, and maintain ESD status labels to ensure equipment traceability and compliance

    Inspection, Measurement & Testing (IMT)

    • Accurately enter IMT calibration and measurement data into the QMM database
    • Review calibration history, due dates, and tolerance requirements prior to equipment service or release
    • Document calibration results, including as-found and as-left conditions and equipment status
    • Ensure calibration standards and reference tools are properly maintained and traceable
    • Update calibration records, labels, and database entries to maintain current equipment status
    • Coordinate with vendors and cross-functional teams to support IMT and calibration activities

    Lab Analysis Support

    • Prepare samples using mechanical polishing, cross-sectioning, pre-sputtering, etc.
    • Support advanced sample prep techniques (e.g., PFIB pre-work) as experience allows
    • Maintain FA lab tools, consumables, and sample traceability
    • Comply with lab safety, cleanroom protocols, and ESD control requirements
    • Support Physical Failure Analysis activities in the Quality Lab (Zeiss X-SEM, Thermofischer PFIB, etc.)

    Data Analysis & Reporting

    • Produce weekly and monthly QMM trend reports
    • Analyze quality trend data and coordinate corrective actions with Production and Engineering teams
    • Support root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement initiatives
    • Document failure analysis results clearly and accurately in FA reports or databases
    • Summarize findings, observations, and conclusions for engineering and quality teams

    Cleanroom & Quality Support

    • Support cleanroom material evaluations (particle checks, wipes, gloves, and related materials)
    • Ensure proper disposition of materials to meet specification requirements
    • Participate in audits, inspections, and internal quality reviews
    • Support MSA, gauge studies, and measurement validation activities
    • Use optical microscopy to visually inspect failed devices and document findings when required

    Collaboration

    • Collaborate effectively with Quality, Engineering, Production, and external vendors
    • Assist engineers in validating corrective actions and process improvements
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • AS degree in Electronics or Engineering Technology preferred, calibration experience highly desired.
    • Working knowledge of basic arithmetic and calculations
    • Ability to collect, analyze, summarize, and communicate quality data
    • Ability to read and follow written procedures, specifications, and documentation
    • Basic technical writing skills for preparing SOPs, reports and internal documentation
    • Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
    • Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

    Additional Information

    • This role will work on site in Roseville, CA.
    • This position generally works Monday-Friday, additional hours as necessary

    The U.S. base salary range for this full-time position varies considerably depending upon qualifications (including education and applicable work experience). The base salary range for this position is $25-$30/hr. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, job location, etc. Your Recruiter can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.
