    Quality Repair Services, LLC (QRS) is looking for a field service technician to repair and service medical & lab equipment in the Pittsburgh area. Gain experience servicing Pittsburgh’s booming medical industry with extensive benefits and company-provided training and tools. HVAC experience is not required; we are looking for people with a knack for hands-on technical repair and troubleshooting.

    As a field service technician at QRS, you will have:

    40 hours of paid work per week, regardless of (less) time in the field. Paid time off, holidays and overtime.

    · A compensation of $23 per hour, with increases per hour by achieving a set of predefined milestones.

    The ideal candidate is a career-minded technician with refrigeration experience or training who likes to solve different problems each day. Extensive training (via on-the-job and formal coursing), specialized tools and a laptop will be provided by QRS.

    This is a full-time role. The position requires rotational on-call service which may require periodic weekend and holiday work. Most work is in the greater Pittsburgh area; however, travel may be necessary.

    SKILLS / DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Computer Knowledge — Using computers and computer systems. Proficient in e-mail, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.

    Pro-Active Learning — Proactive in continually improving his / her own processes and procedures in learning and repairing. This includes attending and passing (if required) all training classes. This learning will help to diagnose, inspect, calibrate, and maintain medical and lab equipment.

    Efficient Diagnostics — Determining accurate causes of the reported problem within reason, by using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems. This includes analyzing related information, understanding the sequence of operations.

    Respects Safety Procedures and Instructions – Uses and mixes gases safely and accurately as per manufacturer's instructions; safely operates hand tools, test equipment, and torches. Repairs equally to manufacturers standard of quality (i.e. bends, brazing, etc.).

    Documenting/Recording Information— Entering and maintaining complete organized information in a written or electronic format. This includes updating assigned parts and tool inventories and current equipment calibrations. The service report must show justification of site time and detailed events. Notation should reflect the full nature of work so that future referencing is easily compiled.

    Responsive Team Behavior - Mentoring other technicians, if applicable. The ability to foster a co-operative, responsible, respectful, teamwork environment with amicable behavior during challenging administrative or customer situations. This is representative of our strongly collaborative culture.

    Strong Interpersonal, Communication and Customer Service Skills – Ensuring a timely ETA to a client’s site. The ability to work effectively with a wide range of personalities (administrative and customer) during a sometime challenging situation. This includes customer needs, manufacturers’ requirements and evaluation of customer satisfaction. Discusses / reports with customer staff, administration and other team members.

    Understands, Complies, and Embraces the Philosophy, Policy/Procedures – Abiding by the employee manual set forth by the company. (Progressive disciplinary actions are enacted, if necessary).

    Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

    Valid driver’s license with a clear driving record and reliable transportation.

    Possession of a vehicle with reliable service.

    Physical requirements as associated with field repair, i.e., lifting, bending, etc.

    Living within a 45-minute radius of Oakland, Pittsburgh, PA.

    Passage of a QRS-administered drug test and background check.

    Professional attitude with a neat and clean appearance. This includes demeanor through work activity.

    Accepts directives. Must be accountable for their actions, be dependable, and reliable.

    Possess potential leadership skills, show a positive respectful attitude and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with minimal supervision.

    Possess a proactive outlook to continually help improve processes and procedures.

    Flexible -- accepting ownership of new and different tasks.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    High school diploma or GED equivalent

    EPA Universal Certification
