    Position Summary:

    The Quality Technician is responsible for monitoring and ensuring the quality and safety of bottled products in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. This role involves routine testing, inspections, and documentation to support quality control in the bottling process.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform in-process quality checks on bottling line samples (e.g., fill levels, cap torque, label placement, packaging integrity).
    • Conduct physical, chemical, and sensory tests on bottled products.
    • Collect, perform and analyze samples for microbiological testing when required.
    • Document and report any deviations from quality standards; escalate issues promptly to supervisors/managers and quarantine product.
    • Monitor and calibrate quality instruments and testing equipment.
    • Assist in the investigation of non-conformances, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
    • Support sanitation, GMP and other internal/external audits.
    • Conduct ATP and environmental swab testing and data collection.
    • Maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory and internal standards (e.g., FDA, FSSC 22000, CDPH, HACCP).
    • Conduct quality checks on incoming ingredients and materials.
    • Conduct effective pass down reports.
    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and quality team meetings.
    • Ensure adherence to all safety procedures and company policies.
    • Ability to be cross trained on filler equipment and obtain Cannery License (within one year of hire.
    • Conduct start up procedures, ie. micrometer dial-in and sample collecting and testing from various equipment.

    Qualifications:

    Education & Experience:

    • High school diploma or GED or equivalent combination of experience and education.
    • Associate's degree in science, quality, or related field preferred.
    • Two years of experience in quality assurance in bottling/production environment preferred.
    • Must obtain PCQI certification within six months of hire.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Knowledge of quality systems and standards (HACCP, GMPs, FSSC 22000, etc.).
    • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
    • Proficient in using quality lab tools and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
    • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights or weekends, as needed.

    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock. Must be comfortable working around glass, broken glass and plastics. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; toxic or caustic chemicals and outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to hot temperatures. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Physical fitness to perform checks and tests as well as lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    • Must be able to work around loud noise with PPE
    • Must be able to wear all PPE including hair and facial hair covered.
