Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Technician to support manufacturing operations by performing inspections, analyzing quality data, and ensuring compliance with internal standards and customer requirements. This position plays a key role in identifying product defects, supporting root cause analysis, and maintaining calibration and quality documentation systems. This is a 2nd shift role, hours being 1pm-11:30pm, Monday-Thursday.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform daily Quality Department tasks within a manufacturing environment
- Conduct inspections on products at all stages of the manufacturing process and document findings
- Measure first production runs and provide data to support product development
- Perform First Article Inspections
- Expedite inspection of received materials as needed
- Report the number of parts that pass/fail inspection
- Organize and format inspection data to identify trends and quality concerns
- Provide feedback to supervisors and leadership regarding inspection results and customer complaints
- Determine when additional corrective actions are needed and implement follow-up steps
- Work with Operations to perform root cause analysis and help prevent recurring defects
- Understand and apply internal calibration requirements and use calibration software
- Coordinate external calibration activities with tool owners and calibration laboratories
- Assist with:
- Reading and interpreting engineering prints and specifications
- Product identification and traceability activities
- Understanding housekeeping, quality, safety, and work rules
- Proper use of advanced measuring equipment
Qualifications
Experience & Skills:
- Previous Quality Control/Quality Assurance experience required
- ISO 9001 experience preferred
- Minimum one year experience as a Quality Technician or equivalent
- Ability to read and interpret manufacturing instructions, quality documents, engineering drawings, and bills of materials
- Experience using basic and advanced measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, hardness testers, CMM, etc.)
- Ability to identify and verify correct tooling used in production
- Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues to ensure proper setup
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Windows-based systems
