Job Title: Quality Technician
Location: Smyrna, TN
1st Shift: 6AM- 2:45PM Monday-Friday
Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Quality Technician to support our automotive chassis production operations. This role is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of welded and assembled components, ensuring all products meet internal and customer quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, inspection techniques, and a proactive mindset for problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspections of chassis assemblies and components throughout the production process, including pre- and post-robotic welding stages
Use measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges, fixtures) to verify dimensions and tolerances
Conduct visual inspections to identify weld defects, part misalignments, missing hardware, or surface damage
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and control plans
Document inspection results in quality records, digital systems, or check sheets as required
Support root cause analysis and corrective action processes for nonconforming products (e.g., 8D, 5-Why, Ishikawa)
Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to communicate quality concerns and verify corrective actions
Perform layered process audits and support internal and external audit activities
Monitor and ensure compliance with customer requirements and ISO/IATF 16949 standards
Maintain calibration status and care of quality tools and equipment
Pay Rate: $17.50
