     DESCRIPTION:

    • Prepare metal samples using cutting, mounting, grinding, polishing, and etching techniques for microscopic examination.
    • Perform metallographic evaluations including grain size analysis (ASTM E112), tensile testing (ASTM E8), and eddy current testing (ASTM E243).
    • Conduct mechanical testing (hardness testing using Rockwell, Vickers, and Brinell methods) and document results.
    • Operate and maintain optical microscopes, hardness testers, and other lab equipment.
    • Record test results accurately in lab reports, databases, and quality records.
    • Assist with failure analysis and material investigations under the supervision of engineers.
    • Support internal and external audits by maintaining traceable and compliant documentation.
    • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database.

    • Experience with Material Hardness Testing.
    • Must be able to understand and interpret technical specifications.
    • Familiarity with ASTM standards, especially E112 (Grain Size), E3 (Preparation), and E18 (Hardness)
    • Knowledge of hardness testing equipment (Rockwell, Vickers, Brinell)
    • Ability to interpret metallurgical microstructures and perform grain size counts
    • Experience with lab software or image analysis tools is a plus
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
    •  Time management and organizational skills
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and handle light-to-moderate lifting
