Job DescriptionThe Quality Technician will work in all aspects of quality regarding receiving, melting, casting, and inspection.The Quality Technician works at the Laboratory to operate several testing equipment.Also requires to be at the production floor conduct visual inspections, testing, and audits.He is required to ensure that materials met all specifications as required by the customer.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Collect and prepare samples.Organizes data for supervisorPerform In-line testing during castingStores chemistries electronically and hard copyUpload data into syteline ERP systemRecord instance of non-conformancesAlloy inventoryUltrasonically inspect ingots for center-line and radial cracksConduct final inspection of product as neededQuality Control for melting furnace, holding furnace, caster and related equipment.JOB QUALIFICATIONS:Excellent verbal and written (English) communication skillsCapable of writing reports and filing up inspection forms.Skill in performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another of a different nature - ability to shift priorities often is needed.Requires mathematical skills and performing operations requiring conversions of units of measures and weights.Has Attention to detailsAdherence to company policies, including but not limited to all Safety Policies.Excellent attendance record is expectedMust be willing to work flexible hours including mandatory overtime.Work around heat and hot metal temperatures.Must be able to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) (flame retardant clothing, face shields, respirator, safety glasses, etc.).Pass qualifying tests.SafetyAbides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rulesPromotes a safety culture and ensures compliance with safety policies and rules,Safety improvement -Provides for continuous reduction of workplace hazards, risks, employee accidents.Physical DemandsThe employee will occasionally move 50+lbs.
