    Position Summary:

    Our client runs numerous web sites and digital products that generate fan interest globally! Our client's best-in-class products are available in over 215+ countries that allows fans live and archive access to games from the preseason through the Finals. Millions of people visit sites, engage with mobile apps, and view our content across multiple platforms. Continuing its role as a digital leader in media, the Digital Product Development team will develop and deliver a number of strategic digital product initiatives.

    We are looking for a candidate that can serve as a technical product manager well versed in video delivery, helping to drive the league's digital products to the forefront as we deliver video to consumers and other business partners. This will include schedule management and development to deliver low-latency video to digital products both internal to the league, and external. The ideal candidate for this role will have strong experience with understanding the many aspects to digital video delivery from latency, to embedded metadata and the various business and technical hurdles to achieve performance.

    Major Responsibilities:

    • Maintain technical documentation and scheduling for (operations, development) initiatives for video delivery projects
    • Partnering with Product, Content, and Operations Teams to capture business requirements and document solutions to meet those needs
    • Become proficient in existing systems and understand the implications of changing business requirements and consumer behaviors
    • Collaborate, document and improve understanding with all technical teams, translating product requirements into a technical plan
    • Developing and managing requirements for new features/improvements in JIRA or other project management tools
    • Write clear user stories (tasks, epics) complete with an understanding of edge cases
    • Mastering the day-to-day-management (grooming, backlog, etc.) of the Agile board Testing (not QA) newly developed features
    • Giving demos of new features to internal teams for feedback and educational purposes
    • Working closely with video engineering, business partner teams, and infrastructure teams to ensure nothing 'slips' Document end-to-end multimedia infrastructure and delivery for consumption in web and native apps
    • Own and document multimedia delivery strategies and methodology
    • Supporting and learning from senior product managers
    • Executing on several projects concurrently while balancing shifting priorities
    • Making decisions based on logic, data, prioritization, and your judgment
    • Respond to and work with technical resources to isolate and resolve system issues
    • Provide after-hours and weekend support for production systems when needed

    Required Skills/Knowledge:

    • Familiar with backend web technologies such as JavaScript, Node.js, Python, or Java. Familiar with media encoding server technologies and code s (e.g. FFMPEG)
    • •Understanding of Amazon or Azure Media Services inclusive of Elemental Media Live, Media Connect, Media Tailor, and Media Package or Azure Media Service workflow
    • Familiar with video delivery over industry-leading CDNs (Akamai, Cloudfront, Level3, etc.)
    • Solid understanding of encoding protocols (AAC, H.264,H.265) and streaming protocols (RTMP, HDS, HLS, DASH)
    • Proven track record of getting things done, balancing multiple tasks including communication with internal and external teams while consistently delivering on schedule.
    • Understanding of SDLC and project planning/execution skills Basic understanding of IP networking
