    POSITION: Project Technical Architect LOCATION: Boston, MA / Remote TYPE: Full Time or Contract to Hire  


    JOB DESCRIPTION: The Project Technical Architect is the senior role responsible for establishing the strategic technical direction and approach that will be followed by projects and programs in the portfolio to ensure alignment with the established enterprise architecture principles and guidelines.  This role is expected to work closely with the Enterprise Architect and the Domain Architects first, to ensure that the high-level conceptual architecture associated with project requests is aligned with the architectural guidelines, standards and principles, before the start of each project and in support of project estimation and sizing initiatives.  And second, once the project has entered execution phase, this role will ensure that the technical direction of the project remains aligned with the architectural principles and standards, working with the project manager and the project leadership to identify and address technical and functional risks, while assisting the project manager in the resolution of technical issues. For projects associated with third-party implementations and development of proof-of-concept ideas, this role will be responsible supporting the project manager and business analyst and collaborating with product owners, project sponsors, business managers, architects and other cross-functional business and technology partners, to define the functional components that leverage existing or new technologies and drive proof-of-concepts or pilot implementations to gain experience and derive conclusions.   RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with the business analyst assigned to the project to understand business drivers and business capabilities (future and current state) and determine corresponding enterprise system designs and change requirements to drive the project’ s targeted business and technical goals.
    • Manage and develop the architecture for a broader scope of projects, working closely with the enterprise architect, domain architects and project resources.   For each project: develop and coordinate conceptual design architecture plans; assist the project manager and the project team in maintaining the alignment between the project’ s strategic direction and that of the enterprise; serve as an advisor to the project team on business and information integration strategies.
    • Define and help the IS PMO leadership on the documentation of conceptual and logical architectures, capturing and documenting non-functional (architectural) requirements for proposals (RFPs).
    • In partnership with the Enterprise Architect and Domain Architects, conduct proof-of-concept exercises to evaluate new technologies as and when required.
    • Monitor the current-state solution portfolio to identify deficiencies through aging of the technologies used by the application, or misalignment with business requirements.
    • Work in partnership with the Enterprise Architect to proactively monitor the strategic direction of vendors’ software products, technology and market trends, and determine potential impact and value to the current and planned project portfolio.
    • Lead and/or facilitate solution design workshops with key project stakeholders to provide analysis and solution design expertise that align with enterprise standards, including technology awareness/education sessions, technology trend research, etc.
    • Participate in the Architecture Review Committee (ARC) to advise project teams, understanding, modeling, and representing the organizations business requirements in a human consumable manner, as it relates to technology.
    • Perform any other job-related instructions, as requested.

      SKILLS:

    • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills and verbal/written communication, including communicating updates, risks, etc.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (both oral and written) with the ability to clearly communicate complex messages to a variety of audiences.
    • Thorough knowledge and related work experience of the project management process, theory and lifecycle, including Waterfall and Agile methodology, as well as Project Delivery Framework and SDLC.
    • Detail-oriented with proven ability to adapt to a dynamic environment and oversee multiple projects, manage schedules, resource allocation/planning and maximize work efforts across all teams.
    • Possess excellent prioritization, resource planning and management skills as well as proven ability in the identification, assessment and contingency planning and managing for risk factors.
    • Proven competency to effectively interact at all levels across the organization, working to build and maintain successful relationships across all departments.
    • Proven competency in business analysis, requirements definition, and business case production.
    • Demonstrated flexibility and be able to work in a time-sensitive environment and meet strict deadlines with sudden and unpredictable changes that may occur.
    • Ability to improve current processes and procedures from a technical standpoint; present opportunities for change and help implement them for the benefit of the organization.
    • Self-starter with a strong work ethic, who sets high standards for self and others and demonstrates enthusiasm for the mission of the team.

      EXPERIENCE:

    • Experience in designing and building scalable, multi-tenant solutions, while following best practices and standards.
    • Experience with integration platforms, modeling tools and techniques.
    • Experience using DevOps and Agile, as well as Waterfall and Hybrid approaches.
    • A minimum of 12-15 years of architecture experience and background in information systems and information technology, with at least 7+ years in solutions architecture in a project setting with increasing responsibilities in enterprise architecture solutions or innovation/digital role.

      • Experience in healthcare, hospital setting (preferred)
      • Web Analytics tools and techniques
      • API & Web services (REST & SOAP)
      • Java, Spring Boot, Angular.js, Node.js, Vue.js, React.js
      • AI/ML technologies inAWS
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
