4TH-5TH GRADE MATH TEACHER

QUEEN OF ANGELS, CHICAGO

REPORTS TO: Queen of Angels Principal, Ms. Rana Brizgys

POSITION SUMMARY:

Queen of Angels Catholic Elementary School seeks to hire a 4th and 5th grade teacher with a passion for mathematics, who prides themselves on creating supportive and caring environments that foster growth and curiosity in our intermediate school children. A successful candidate will have the skills necessary to clearly and creatively implement curriculum and activities, guiding children as they develop the necessary skills to smoothly transition into their next grade level.

A successful elementary school math teacher can tailor their instruction to the different learning styles of their students. Math is often a challenging subject for students. At Queen of Angels, we support creative and innovative approaches to teaching, and encourage the integration of STEAM.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree

· Professional Educator’s License

o Type 03 – Elementary Education

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· 1-3 Years of Teaching Experience, particular in Math

.  Math Endorsement preferred but not required

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Fully in-person instruction (with possibility of short-term remote learning)

· Teach and act in accordance with the mission of the Catholic faith.

· Communicate regularly with students, parents/guardians, colleagues and principal

· Participate in professional development programs required by the Archdiocese of Chicago and/or the local school and parish

· Perform teaching duties as assigned by the principal

· Attend required faculty and staff meetings

· Cooperate with the principal and staff members in school related meetings, activities and projects

· Maintain accurate student attendance and academic records

· Maintain a safe, orderly and secure learning environment

· Participate in the annual performance review

· Maintain confidentiality and discretion regarding school personnel, students and general school matters

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee must frequently move, stand, and lift up to 10 pounds. As well as be able to walk up and down steps several times each day and physically respond quickly in an emergency.
