Being a Crew Member at Quesadilla Gorilla means creating an enjoyable environment for our guests, providing authentic hospitality, and making quality quesadillas.

    Crew Member 1’s at Quesadilla Gorilla can work a variety of shifts based on your availability and the needs of the store. Your primary duties consist of taking orders, preparing quesadillas, packaging quesadilla orders, and ringing up customer purchases. Secondary duties include preparing ingredients, opening and closing the store, and cleaning.

    Crew Member 1’s must keep the kitchen, dining area, and bathrooms in great shape. Often, the work environment remains busy and often hectic. Other times, the business may move at a steady pace. You must know how to keep yourself busy during all hours of the day. From basic food preparation to taking customers’ orders, you must be able to change tasks quickly and efficiently to be successful in this position. You will have a direct role in ensuring that customers have a pleasant dining experience each time they visit a Quesadilla Gorilla location. 

    Your core job responsibility at Quesadilla Gorilla will center around customer satisfaction. Your position will play a key role in making customers happy regardless of what area of the store you are currently working in. In the kitchen, you will be responsible for making sure orders are being prepared correctly and safely. In the front, you will have to make sure that customer orders are recorded correctly and that customers receive the correct change. 

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Accurately takes orders and makes the correct change at the register.
    • Prepares food and follows food safety guidelines at all times.
    • Cleans workstation as needed during downtime.
    • Follows the original recipes closely to ensure the same high-quality food every time.
    • Works with management to resolve customer issues as they arise.
    • Prepares and cooks quesadillas according to instructions provided on kitchen display screens or through verbal directions; verifies the quality and quantity of all orders.
    • Multitasks by cooking several different orders at once, ensuring that all items are prepared in accordance with customer instructions and company standards.
    • Maintains overall sanitation, health, cleanliness, and safety standards for food preparation areas, cooking services, and dishes and utensils.
    • Provides menu information and suggestions to customers including drink and food suggestions and explanations of ingredients and preparation methods.
    • Assists with food preparation as directed, operating food production equipment as required to complete tasks.
    • Operates flattop grill and fryer to prepare specific foods.
    • Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations.
    • Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to the appropriate locations in the kitchen area.
    • Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Ability to read and follow instructions.
    • Good verbal communication skills.
    • Basic understanding of or ability to learn basic sanitation and regulations for safety.
    • Basic understanding of or ability to learn food-handling techniques, preparation, and cooking procedures.
    • Ability to work efficiently and quickly.
    • Must be able to work well as part of a team.
    • Must be able to work well under pressure.
    • Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prior quick service food service experience preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Prolonged periods of standing and walking.
    • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the restaurant.
    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
    • May be required to work in excessive heat and cold in association with the kitchen environment.

    SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

    When working in fast food as a crew member there are a few advantages, especially for high school students or beginners. In general, food companies are not looking for someone with a lot of experience, rather they want an employee that can quickly learn and adapt to every situation. 

    The minimum requirements to work as a Quesadilla Gorilla Crew Member are the following:

    • You must be at least 16 years old to work as a Crew Member at Quesadilla Gorilla. 
    • You have to speak the native language spoken at the home location.

    Quesadilla Gorilla is looking for someone willing to learn how to cook and how to develop their multi-tasking skills. Here are some of the most important skills you should have to work as a crew member at Quesadilla Gorilla:

    WORKING HOURS

    For the most part, Crew Members 1’s at Quesadilla Gorilla work part-time only and average 20 to 30 hours each week. Occasionally, full-time openings may become available that work up to 40 hours. In rare instances, overtime may be required to help address shortages in coverage.

    Since this is a food-service position, closing shifts may involve working slightly past your established shift. This time can be significantly impacted by large orders being placed right before store closing.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    Working in the food industry means you work in a fast-paced environment. There are always orders to be prepared and served.

    As a Crew Member 1, you will be working on your feet the entire duration of your shift. You should be comfortable working in a tight space with many other people around you. In addition, you should also be comfortable working in a hot environment where food is being prepared. This position requires a lot of repetitive motion. You will regularly be stooping and reaching overhand as well. In addition, you should also be able to lift packages that weigh 30 pounds or more during truck deliveries.
