    GENERAL SUMMARY :

    This position is responsible for providing accurate and timely accounting services to assist in the tracking and reporting of costs, revenues, and payments on company projects from start to completion. This position will work in the District Operations office and report directly and remotely to the Corporate Project Accountant; this position will also have administrative responsibilities to support the HR function and office administration and will have an indirect reporting line to the District Operations Manager.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Ensure internal job labor and equipment costs are entered to jobs in a timely and accurate manner by entering labor time ticket data into accounting system.
    • Work closely with the district purchasing and receiving personnel to timely enter received purchase order items into accounting system.
    • Invoice customers timely and accurately according to contract terms and customer requirements.
    • Work with key operations personnel and Corporate Project Accountant to set-up jobs in accounting system timely and in compliance with bid documents, contractual requirements, and Job Set-Up approval process.
    • Monitor customer accounts receivable balances and communicate payments and open balances to key operations personnel for collection calls, assisting in collection efforts as requested by Operations Management.
    • Provide client cost reporting as necessary.
    • Maintain complete and orderly Job/Work files.
    • Perform Ad hoc reporting requirements as may be requested from time to time.
    • May be required to perform other duties as assigned not otherwise captured in this position description.

    **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: **

    • Ability to work within an accounting software and a willingness to learn a new software
    • Ability to enter large amounts of data timely and accurately on a daily basis
    • Ability to treat District Operations as an internal customer
    • Intermediate Excel skills (including Microsoft 365 Suite)
    • Effective verbal and written communication skills
    • Problem solving abilities
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize to meet deadlines
    • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

    EDUCATION, LICENSES AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Requires a High School diploma or GED
    • Minimum of three years of experience in an accounting administrative role with a heavy emphasis on data entry (time data entry is a plus), and within an industrial contracting or construction company
    • Office management experience preferred
