Job Description

The Applications Programmer/IT Specialist derives his/her authority from the IT Manager, Data Center and Application Development. The Applications Programmer/IT Specialist has sufficient authority to perform the assigned responsibilities and duties within the policies and guidelines set by the IT Manager, Data Center and Application Development.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Continuously review and maintain ERP and custom Progress/Webspeed programs.
• Assist in Progress Database maintenance, backup and replication.
• Assist in installation and maintainance of Virtual Machines.
• Help in network related problems.
• Maintain daily and monthly backups of servers ensuring data integrity.
• Document and log programs, databases and systems changes.

Duties:

• Develop Progress/Webspeed application.
• Develop and test systems before deployment to users.
• Install and manage server hardware and software in harmony with industry accepted best practices.
• Support user base as needed.
• Perform other such duties as are assigned by the IT Manager, Data Center and Application Development.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years in Progress CHUI/GUI/Webspeed programming.
• Proficiency in Progress RDBMS Administration.
• Linux Scripting.
• Strong knowledge of server-based business systems.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure equipment and best practices.
• Good organizational and communication skills.
