    We are seeking Quichua (Cañar Highland Dialect) Over-the-Phone Interpreters (OPI) to support our USCIS contract. Quichua, a Quechuan indigenous language spoken in the Ecuadorian highlands, is a rare but critical language often required in asylum and immigration interviews.

    Responsibilities

    ● Provide real-time Quichua (Cañar Highland) ↔ English telephonic interpretation for USCIS officers, applicants, and stakeholders.

    ● Interpret with accuracy, impartiality, and confidentiality in immigration, legal, and community contexts.

    ● Adhere to USCIS/DHS interpreter standards and professional ethics.

    ● Handle both scheduled assignments and urgent/surge requests.

    ● Participate in training, compliance refreshers, and quality assurance audits.

    Qualifications

    ● Native or near-native fluency in Quichua (Cañar Highland Dialect) and English.

    ● 2+ years of professional interpreting experience (immigration, legal, or community interpreting strongly preferred).

    ● Deep cultural understanding of Andean/indigenous communities.

    ● Familiarity with interpreter ethics, confidentiality, and accuracy standards.

    ● Must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident eligible for Tier 3/Tier 5 federal clearance.
