Job Description

Seeking an in-house (on site) licensed property and casualty insurance agent (2-20), licensed insurance CSR (4-40), or prior P&C insurance underwriter to communicate with clients and create documentation based on our clients requirements. Knowledge of P&C lines of business is required.

We are a software company that specializes in writing 100% web based end to end insurance systems for P&C insurance carriers, mgas, and tpas. Your position will require generating shared Google documents that show our clients what a screen or interface looks like as well as documenting the rules for all of the fields displayed on screen. Once the documentation you create has been approved by the client; our developers use the same documentation to build a completely custom insurance system in an agile development environment.

DAILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• NO SELLING insurance or dealing with the general public - unless that's something you want to pursue as well.

• Lead telephone calls with clients regarding system progress and its requirements. Client communication is often with Underwriters, Claims Administrators, CFOs and CEOs of insurance companies.

• Plan and adjust item priorities based on developer availability and client requirements for each sprint.

• Enter and update Mantis items describing individual features or functionality to assign work to developers.

• Interact with trello to see/update item statuses and priorities for each sprint.

• Communicate with developers regarding the documentation and system requirements.

• Answer developer questions regarding the documentation clarifying requirements or client needs as needed.

• Ensure systems are compliant with insurance rules and regulations while customizations are being requested and made.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior P&C insurance experience is required

• Previous experience in software development, quality assurance, or other related fields HELPFUL but NOT required

• Knowledge of JavaScript, HTML, CSS, or any other programming languages is HELPFUL but NOT required

• Familiarity with relational databases such as MySQL

• Strong root-cause analysis skills

• Deadline and detail-oriented
