Job Overview:

The GIS Analyst will be responsible for the design and implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data, mapping, quality assurance, analysis and application projects based on enterprise and customer specified requirements.  Work is performed with independence and initiative under the general supervision of a manager. The successful candidates  should posses GIS specialist-level experience vs. people who use GIS in their fields of science. Strongly prefer candidates who have worked for government agency GIS departments, local, or state.

Job Description:

• Leads and manages Geographic Information Systems (GIS) projects.
• Performs advanced level GIS analysis and mapping.
• Develops and analyzes business requirements and designs, develops and tests new GIS
• data, processes and applications..
• Analyses, troubleshoots, and improves existing GIS data, processes, and applications.
• Designs and implements quality assurance processes.
• Provides GIS support services to management and staff.
• Supports and mentors GIS staff.
• May represent business units on the GIS Technical Committee.

Experience Requirements: 

• Minimum 3 years of advance-level experience demonstrating the use and application of GIS data and technologies or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience.
• Worked with both GIS and commercially available asset management systems.
• Performed advance level of mapping and GIS analysis.
• The candidates should posses GIS specialist-level experience vs. people who use GIS in their fields of science.

Experience Preferences: 

•   Strongly prefer candidates who have worked for government agency GIS departments, local, or state.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to sit long periods of time looking at a computer screen, able to lift 15 lbs. 

Education Requirements: 

• A Graduate Certificate, Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution may substitute for two years of experience.

Education Preferences: 

• Master's Degree or higher-level degree from an accredited institution.
