    Job Summary: Fat Fender Garage is a rapidly growing custom automotive manufacturer seeking an organized, systems-minded R&D Operations Coordinator to support our expanding Research & Development team. This on-site role plays a key part in maintaining clean, consistent digital file systems, coordinating technical documentation, and ensuring accurate information flows smoothly across departments. You’ll also collaborate with the design team to create installation instructions for custom products.     Key Responsibilities:

    Organize and manage project files on our NAS server, including CAD models, technical drawings, and supporting documentation

    Retroactively clean up and standardize legacy folders and file structures

    Establish and uphold file naming conventions and digital organization practices across the R&D department

    Disseminate up-to-date documentation and files to departments including procurement, sales, marketing, and shipping

    Collaborate with the design team to create clear and accurate product installation instructions

    Track file versions and updates to ensure team alignment

    Identify inefficiencies in current documentation and communication workflows, and propose scalable improvements

    Qualifications:

    2+ years of experience in operations coordination, document control, or technical administration

    Familiarity with CAD environments and design workflows (SolidWorks, Rhino, Fusion 360)

    Experience with shared network storage systems (NAS)

    Proficient in spreadsheet tools like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets

    Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

    Clear communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally

    Self-motivated and comfortable owning systems and processes

    Preferred:

    Experience in automotive, manufacturing, or fabrication environments

    Background in technical writing or creating user-facing product documentation

    Understanding of interdepartmental workflows (e.g., purchasing, shipping, marketing)

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on shop environment
