A leading contract manufacturer in the dietary supplements industry is seeking an R&D Technical Transfer Scientist to drive the successful scale-up of formulations from pilot lab to full commercial production. This individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including R&D, Quality, Technical Services, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure seamless product transfers and process optimization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead technical transfer of formulations from pilot scale to GMP-compliant commercial production.
Partner with R&D formulation scientists and technical operations to optimize blends for scale-up and improve production efficiency.
Design, conduct, and document formulation experiments to ensure commercial viability.
Provide guidance on processability concerns during early-stage product quoting and development.
Generate and maintain comprehensive technical documentation (pilot trials, commercial runs, batch records, testing protocols).
Support raw material qualification and troubleshooting, including collaboration with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Present technical findings to leadership, business development, and client management teams.
Serve as a technical reviewer for formulas, specifications, and production documents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Pharmacy, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
5+ years of hands-on experience in formulation development within the dietary supplements sector (capsules, tablets, and powders preferred).
Strong working knowledge of product/process development and commercial scale-up.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to analyze data and collaborate cross-functionally in a fast-paced GMP environment.
