Job Description
Primary Purpose
Under the guidance of the Engineering Manager, this role is responsible for engineering and R&D projects. Applying engineering principles and practices during development of new products, improving products, equipment, processes and methods of production for the organization. This role will support projects that fulfill customer and company strategic goals, integrating the needs of our customers, and marketing, sales, and manufacturing departments.

Education/Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 5 years of experience welding (MIG/ARC/GAS) in a manufacturing industry or equivalent
Previous experience in fixturing parts and assemblies to prevent warpage or other unwanted results
Ability to set up and operate all Fab/Machine shop equipment (medium to large hydraulic/brake press, robotic welders, vertical mill (Bridgeport), grinder, iron worker, vertical/horizontal band saw, horizontal lathe)
Attention to detail
Must be able to work within a team environment and work independently when necessary
Ability to weld and/or use cutting torch in all positions
Ability to regulate welder to specific wire feed speeds and voltage
Ability to perform fit up, weld, and assemble using fixtures, surface plates and hand tools, tape measure, etc.
Ability to fixture components and welds to print specifications, sketches, or concepts
Ability to design and build prototypes with very little detail and supervision
Preferred – Experience in building prototypes and fixtures
Preferred – Previous programming experience in Fanuc and/or Lincoln robotic welder
Preferred – Proficient in TIG welding
Preferred – Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting
Preferred– Familiarity with hydraulics (pressure, cylinders, liners, and valuing)
Preferred: Working knowledge of technical terminology in the aerial work platform and/or hydraulic lift industry
Preferred: Experience in SolidWorks
Good interpersonal/social skills
Ability to use logic to solve problems with effective solutions
Able to maintain confidential information
Working Conditions
Ability to lift, position, move, bend, flip parts in order to accomplish production goals that require loading, adjusting, turning, and removing small and large parts up to 50lbs
Stands, bends, stretches, reaches, lifts repetitively to accomplish welding and other company-wide production goals
Ability to occasionally lift greater than 75lbs with assistance
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, reach, lift, sit, in hot, cold, dusty, elevated, noisy area where foot and automated equipment movement, airborne, dust/fumes, and ultraviolet light are present
Ability to operate a forklift
Exposure to moving mechanical parts
This position usually works regular business hours but may be required to work evenings and weekends to meet deadlines
Works in an office and factories, may have to travel between sites locally. Job site and remote field work will be required as needed.
May have to work around heavy machinery, noisy and/or dirty conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods of time, bend, kneel, reach, lift, sit, in hot, cold, dusty, elevated, noisy areas where foot and automated equipment movement, airborne, dust/fumes, and ultraviolet light are present
