    Job Description

    IN-OFFICE TUESDAY-THURSDAY | FLEXIBLE MONDAY & FRIDAY

    We are currently searching for a Logistics Specialist to fill our opening. The Logistics Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment that is the hub of activity in our operations. The Logistics Specialist will be responsible for performing load planning activities, coordinate load assignments, and handle administrative paperwork / digital entry duties. The main objective is to verify that the customer's needs are met in a prompt and professional manner. 

    • Manages designated customer account and their revenue base while coordinating traffic flows, freight allocations, quoting of rates and delivery/pick-up dispatches.
    • Controls the preplanning of units of each customer order in dispatch to ensure profitability, maximizes equipment utilization and ensures customer shipment expectations.
    • Reviews and analyzes operating reports, taking corrective action as required to reposition load allocation.
    • Generates and communicates rates, timing of shipments and receipt requirements to keep customer informed.
    • Book loads off freight load board when needed, sometimes requiring broker onboarding, handle associated data entry, dispatch, tracking and follow through with compiling and collect documents required for billing with accounting department.
    • Work with AR and operations to ensure proper billing is executed. 
    • Work collaboratively with fleet department to track, find and update equipment information.
    • Communicate and resolve issues from drivers and operations managers and communicate to Sr. Operations Manager.
    • Collect and clean data from various sources to be used in BI and KPI reporting.
    • Take on some of the daily task of an operations manager when they have time off. 
    • Use Excel to formulate reports for the CEO as requested using an SOP.
    • Communicate to Recruiting department the specification and needs of future operations.
    • Updating freight numbers for freight forecasting and working with the sales team to fill potential gaps
    • Create and implement SOP’s and communicate to relevant stakeholders.
    • Serve as dispatch when call volume overflows and be able to navigate Amazon Relay portal and resolve disputes with Amazon operations teams. 
    • Use rate calculator and experience to bid on lanes provided from sales department as well as taking calls from brokers and giving quotes.
    • Work with senior management, finance, and fleet operations to build custom reporting solutions and provide decision based insight for spending and long-term planning.

    • Dispatch / tele sales and/or load planning experience required
    • Must have high level of self-motivation, excellent organization skills and ability to multitask at a very fast pace
    • Excel experience is required (vlookup/pivot tables)
    • Ability to multitask with a sense of urgency while producing quality work
    • Ability to work without constant supervision/self-motivated
    • Be able to work under pressure
    • Strong time management skills
    • Competent in working independently as well as in a team atmosphere
    • Have good knowledge of geography
    • Be an effective listener
    • Punctual and consistent attendance
    • Desire to be successful and proficient at your job
    • Willing to understand and support change, as it relates to processes, structure and business modeling

    JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Exempt

    Subject to sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting objects up to 15 lbs. Standard office environment.
