    Job Description

     

    SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE We believe this position is the linchpin to our operations at R&S. The role asks for constant, customer service focused communication with our customers while also assuring our inventories are accurate and flow of operations within the warehouse are running efficiently. The execution of this role is keenly tied to the success of the company.

     

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

    1. Maintains priorities in the warehouse, ensuring one time and accurate shipment through the proper checks and balances.
    2. Manages inventory levels and reports daily to current customers.
    3. Responsible for managing/documenting order accuracies, reporting damages
    4. Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
    5. Performs all computer functions necessary to track various aspects of goods, proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
    6. Supports the shipment of goods received and goods shipped destined for the customer.
    7. Responsible for making arrangements for pick up by the carrier specified on the customer’s purchase order, which is conveyed to the shipping clerk by final inspection via the shipping instructions.
    8. Helps manage warehouse workforce and in constant communication with the team.
    9. Reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor.
    10. Responsible for keeping an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand at all times.
    11. Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. THIS POSITION IS VERY ACTIVE AND REQUIRES STANDING, WALKING, BENDING, KNEELING, STOOPING, CROUCHING, CRAWLING, AND CLIMBING ALL DAY. THE EMPLOYEE MUST FREQUENTLY LIFT AND/OR MOVE ITEMS OVER 30 POUNDS. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK This is a full-time position. Hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 40 hours per week.

    TRAVEL Travel is very uncommon during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Minimum of a high school education and 1 year of factory-related experience in shipping and receiving.
    2. Ability to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
    3. A valid driver’s license.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    1. Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (Microsoft Dynamics used).
    2. Familiarity with Microsoft office, specifically Outlook and Excel.
    3. Licensed forklift truck operator preferred.
