    On-site, full-time permanent position. Houston, TX. Our client, an online and offline subscription-based publication company is looking for a Vice President of Marketing to lead their marketing department. The Vice President of Marketing will oversee the development, improvement and execution of marketing strategies to ensure the growth of their consumer and advertisement revenue streams and to strengthen the company’s top tier position in the market. This includes customer acquisition and retention strategies across digital and traditional marketing channels for multiple lines of business.

    The company is currently in the process of rebranding/refreshing their main product offering which is their online subscription-based, content-rich website. The Vice President of Marketing needs a deep understanding of B2B marketing. Media/publishing and eCommerce experience is strongly preferred. The position reports to the Head of Marketing/Digital Marketing. 

    This position is on-site at the company's Houston, TX headquarters. Relocation package is not available for this role. However, candidates who are open to self-relocating to Houston will be considered.

    Roles & Responsibilities:

    • Lead and manage the marketing department; mentor and offer feedback to marketing individuals as needed.
    • Create new ideas for advertising and promotional events/conference activities.
    • Negotiate vendor contracts, vendor selection process and vendor SLA standards.
    • Create marketing campaigns for subscriptions, advertising campaigns, conference attendee strategy, and sponsorship programs.
    • Oversee and manage quantitative marketing strategies with measurable metrics and ROI to generate awareness of the company’s business offerings.
    • Set all marketing department/team deliverables and budget.
    • Defining and positioning the brand.
    • Successfully manage all marketing initiatives defined.
    • Oversee customer market research for audience preferences and interests as well as industry trends and competitive analysis.
    • P&L Responsibility of the company’s 500K-1M annual marketing budget.

    Credentials:

    • 10+ years of experience in a marketing leadership role at B2B companies (B2B media/publishing preferred and/or O&G/Energy) .
    • BA in Marketing or similar field of study.
    • Experience creating, managing, mentoring and leading results driven marketing teams.
    • Extremely self-motivated, success-driven, self-starter; thrives in a well-established company with an entrepreneurial culture.
    • Prior experience overseeing a six figure / multi-million dollar marketing budget.
    • Understanding of both traditional (conferences, events, magazine publications) and digital marketing best practices for B2B.
    • Strong research, reporting and analytics skills.
    • Advanced understanding of CRM marketing automation strategy (ex., Marketo, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.).
