    Finding information about available services after experiencing sexual violence is challenging for all survivors. In the U.S., for those who have limited English language skills or do not feel comfortable discussing their experience in English, the challenge is multiplied due to limited services. In response to this need, RAINN provides National Sexual Assault Hotline (NSAH) services in Spanish at rainn.org/es.

    The primary responsibility of this new position is to increase the utilization rate of Spanish-language NSAH services through outreach, partnerships, and communication to Spanish-speaking communities. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, 13 percent of the U.S. population are native Spanish speakers and are most comfortable speaking Spanish.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Create a marketing and outreach plan to promote the availability of Spanish-language services available from the National Sexual Assault Hotline, with clear timelines and performance metrics.
    • Identify and meet with potential outreach and communications partner organizations.
    • Execute against goals of the outreach plan, refining the plan as required.
    • Track and report on progress towards hotline awareness and usage goals.
    • Identify and pursue media outreach opportunities.
    • Create press releases, PSAs, social media posts, and other promotional pieces to support the outreach plan.
    • Conduct outreach to local sexual assault service providers serving Spanish-speaking populations.
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Position Specifications/Requirements:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, or related field or equivalent experience.
    • Three or more years of experience in communications, marketing or community outreach.
    • Fluent in written and oral Spanish and English and able to pass a proficiency test given during the interview process.
    • Experience working with Spanish-speaking communities.
    • Exceptional written and oral communication skills, as well as customer service capabilities.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, handle multiple shifting priorities, and meet strict deadlines.
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
    • Proficient in design tools such as the Adobe Creative Suite and Canva. (Advanced knowledge is preferred)
    • Ability to analyze performance metrics and make recommendations.
    • Comfort with discussing sexual violence and survivors' needs. Willing and excited to research more, participate in training, and apply learnings.
    • Must complete a criminal background check (administered by RAINN).
    • Must show proof of COVID-19 vaccination upon hire.
