    Our client is an Engineering Design and Commissioning Company that is a subject matter expert in the data center space. They will provide onsite design coordination and construction administration, consulting and management support for the Data Center / Mission Critical Facilities Space with the mindset to provide reliability, energy efficiency, sustainable design and LEED expertise when providing these consulting services for Enterprise, Colocation and Hyperscale Companies.     We’re looking for a RCDD Engineer. In this role, you will support design projects for structured cabling and communications system design for data centers and act as a key technical resource for data center cable design both internal teams and clients. This candidate will support the design and engineering of low voltage / structured cabling / telecom projects. Will Lead Technology design projects with the A/E project team while interacting with the customer to gather requirements for design specifications for integration of technology systems based on client's needs.


    Responsibilities:

    • Plan and organize large scale data center cable design projects
    • Create and manage Critical Facilities Design / Construction Project plans – size up, costs, scheduling, resources, timeline
    • Design layout of systems, create drawings, Revit Schedules, create wiring plans for installation
    • Lead structured cabling and communications system design for data center environments, ensuring reliability, scalability, and alignment with industry standards and client requirements
    • Leverage CAD/BIM tools to produce detailed engineering drawings including cable routing, equipment layouts, and system documentation for both new facilities and upgrades
    • Serve as the technical authority on RCDD requirements, providing direction, quality oversight, and innovative solutions throughout project delivery
    • Assess requirements for all aspects of the technology and security systems
    • Maintain liaison with primary client, Owner's,  Rep firms, and any other vendors or stakeholders to facilitate design / construction activities
    • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policies
    • Put these in clear concise work statement for the field

    Qualifications:

    • Relevant experience in the Data Center Industry
    • Engineering Degree in Drafting, Design, or related fields a plus
    • RCDD Certification a Must
    • 4 to 8+ years of experience in telecom design
    • Experience in AutoCAD / BIM / Revit design, Autodesk Revit for design build and operations of data centers a huge plus
    • Understanding of structured cabling standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, NFPA)
    • Background in Space Planning – cabinets, racks, power strips, connectivity, structured cabling, telecom network deployment
    • Must be familiar with the design process of building systems for data center and mission critical projects
    • Experience producing and reviewing complex engineering drawings
    • Preferred experience with BIM 360, Navisworks, and other collaborative design tools
    • Ability to interpret technical specs and coordinate across disciplines
    • Effective Communicator- emails, phone, meetings. Strong organizational, communication, and reporting skills
    • Belong to local professional organizations – 7x24, AFCOM, BICSI, etc
    • Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches that have experience with Electrical / Mechanical is a huge plus (Navy nukes- EMN, ETN, MMNs, Seabees, Army - Power Generation, Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard, Army National Guard, etc.)
    • Ability to travel onsite to Client location (10-25% travel)
