Together, Praxis and RCS are seeking a Cost Engineer to support project financial performance across major capital programs in Los Angeles.
Support Financial Performance on Large-Scale Capital Programs
RCS is seeking a detail-oriented Cost Engineer to support project controls and cost management functions across complex, multi-phase construction programs. This role is ideal for a professional with experience in budget tracking, cost forecasting, and financial reporting within large infrastructure environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor project budgets across large, complex capital improvement programs
Review and analyze subcontractor invoices and allocate costs to appropriate WBS structures
Perform cost-to-complete analysis accounting for commitments, expenditures, staffing, and change orders
Prepare and maintain cost control reports, forecasts, and financial trend logs
Provide timely reporting on budget variances, overruns, and forecast impacts
Participate in project meetings to communicate financial status and cost risks to stakeholders
Review contractor task orders to ensure budget availability and contract capacity
Analyze bid awards and change orders against project budgets and update forecast-at-completion [
Maintain and manage cost data within project systems (e.g., Prolog), including commitments and expenditures
Support project closeout activities and ensure accurate cost reporting records
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of cost engineering experience supporting construction projects
Experience supporting large-scale, multi-million-dollar programs, preferably in aviation or public sector environments
Strong understanding of project cost controls, forecasting, and reporting methodologies
Ability to analyze complex financial data and communicate insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with Design-Build or CMAR delivery methods preferred
Technical Skills:
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience with cost management systems (Prolog preferred)
Strong data analysis and reporting capabilities
Education & Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
Professional certification required (e.g., CCE or CCP)
