Job Description:

As our Post Production Solutions Engineer, you will be joining REAL by FAKE's IT team where you will help provide the best tools and technology to deliver stunning Movies & TV Shows. This includes, but is not limited to administering, designing, implementing, maintaining and troubleshooting hardware and software, including servers, network devices, and high-performance computing workstations.

Under the supervision of the Global Head of IT, you will work within a fun, fast pace and flexible environment where no day is the same. You would be the key person responsible for local and global support of editing systems, Building, Testing and Supporting our Multi-Site Editorial Collaboration workflow four or internal Post Production team and our clients. You would also be tasked with building and training your team of engineers to help you in your endeavours.

Responsibilities :

Technical maintenance of editing and screening facilities implementation of new systems and editorial room buildouts;

Work on R&D crafting, assessing and testing new Post Production technologies with the team and vendors to solve industry challenges;

Responsible for orchestrating Mac, Windows and Linux systems, including tasks such as installations, upgrades, system performance and application deployment;

Automate recurrent tasks using IaC and Scripting;

Provide world-class technical support for clients by assisting, troubleshooting, and resolving user hardware/software issues;

Maintain and create technical documentation, network diagrams, processes and technical specifications;

Stay informed of best practices. Help define guidelines, best practices and metrics for technical designs and standards;

Maintain general upkeep and health of the LA server room;

Building a team; mentoring, training team members.

Essential Skills:

4 Years of experience in a post-production engineering environment;

Very good knowledge of supporting Mac OS and Windows Desktop environments;

Good Knowledge of supporting common NLE and their system requirements (Avid Media Composer, Premier Pro, DaVinci Resolve);

Good knowledge of Remote Work Platforms like (Jump Desktop, Teradici, Parsec & Evercast);

Good knowledge of NAS (Avid Nexis, TrueNAS, EditShare);

Good knowledge of Firewall, Switch Configuration and Security Best Practices;

Good knowledge of network protocols such as DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN and firewalls;

Ability to be available for client support or fast turnaround (i.e. potential morning, evening & weekend work);

Working in a fast-paced environment where autonomy, multitasking, initiative and prioritization are key;

Strong project management, interpersonal and communication skills;

Strong problem-solving skills.

Desirable Skills:

Knowledge of post-production workflows;

Knowledge automation configuration management and provisioning (MDS, Munki, Jamf.);

Avid Certified Support Representative (ACSR);

Knowledge of cloud services such as Amazon Web Services;

Knowledge of High-Speed File Transfer Protocols (Resilio, Signiant, Aspera, File Runner, etc.).
