- Position Summary
- The Family or Internal Medicine Physician provides patient care services by independently and interdependently scheduling, supervising, and/or conducting diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; independently participate in the delivery of direct patient care within the scope of authority granted by the Louisiana State Board of Medicine protocols and standards.
- Minimum Qualifications
- Education
- -Must possess a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy degree with a concentration in the respective specialty from an accredited college or university.
- -Board eligible or certified in a primary care specialty preferred.
- -Current CPR certification
- Experience
- Current Louisiana Medical license and knowledge of scope of practice.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and MS Office.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Calm, professional attitude in stressful situations and interactions.
- High level of ethics in maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Excellent analytical skills to assess and evaluate patient needs and develop and implement a care plan.
- Physical and Mental Requirements
- Stands, sits, and walks most of the day.
- Reads gauges, digital read outs, graphs and educational material, and patient charts in English (Visual acuity)
- Exerts up to 20 pounds of force frequently including pushing, pulling, and/or reaching for objects.
- Ability to move to exam rooms and workspaces.
- Operates office and medical equipment.
- OSHA Category I: Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue.
- Potential exposure to chemical hazards.
- Ability to adapt well to change. Handles a multitude of tasks simultaneously.
- Maintains professional composure in stressful or emergency situations. Deals with and/or solves stressful situations.
