    Summary

    Our client is seeking a board certified Orthopedic Surgeon to join a leading orthopedic practice in the southern California High Desert area. Established in 1986 to provide the market with exceptional care, this busy, outstanding practice treats a broad range of patients with orthopedic issues and sports injuries in their state of the art clinic and in affiliation with the largest and most reputable hospitals in the area. Candidates wishing to be considered must be willing to devote up to 60% of their time to general orthopedic procedures. Please note, this practice does not treat ortho spine patients. Compensation is negotiable based on experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Consulting with patients to diagnose bone, joint, ligament, or other musculoskeletal problems, including diseases, or injuries.
    • Collaborating with other specialists, when necessary, to determine a course of treatment.
    • Performing surgical procedures on various parts of the musculoskeletal system, including plating broken bones, reattaching tendons and ligaments, or performing joint or hip replacements, among other procedures. No ortho spine procedures.
    • Prescribing medication to improve recovery after surgical procedures.
    • Referring patients to physical therapy, when necessary, or performing non-invasive procedures.
    • Monitoring ongoing progress and health of patients, and changing treatment plans, as necessary.
    • Providing support and advice to patients receiving long-term care.

    Orthopedic Surgeon Requirements

    • Valid/Active California Medical license
    • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree.
    • Minimum 4 to 7 years’ internship and residency training, specializing in orthopedic surgery.
    • Certification by The American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in orthopedic surgery and/or a subspecialty, such as sports medicine, reconstructive surgery, trauma.
    • Physician schedule, M-F, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
    • Call schedule TBD
    • Local candidates preferred but relocation available for candidates with ties to the area or specific desire for this location.
