    Chief Medical Officer

Non-profit health care provider with convenient locations in Palm Beach County.  Organization's mission is to fulfill unmet healthcare and social service needs of individuals and families in Palm Beach County. In order to accomplish this mission, organization operates a Federally Qualified Health Center offering pediatric and adult primary care, chronic disease management, infusion, behavioral health counseling, laboratory work, X-rays and dentistry. Our main site operates an on-site pharmacy.

    Primary Purpose

    The Chief Medical Officer ensures adequate staffing; provides leadership for all health center clinicians; works as an integral part of the management team; establishes, strengthens and negotiates relationships between the health center and external providers or healthcare organizations; and monitors and improves the quality of care.

    Job Functions

    • Develop, coordinate and supervise staff within the health center.
    • Establish and oversee standards of practice for the health center.
    • Develop and coordinate systems/processes for controlling costs related to clinical resource utilization.
    • Oversee the evaluation and management of the clinical practices throughout the health center.
    • Ensures adequate staffing, appropriate training, exceptional customer service, and high-quality patient care.
    • Work with the Practice Administrator to schedule staff in order to appropriately cover the department hours of operation.
    • Assign, direct, and review the work of the staff assigned.
    • Plan and facilitate training and development of staff to improve performance.
    • Manage the functions of the Health Center’s Medical Staff, including aspects of provider appointment/reappointment, departmental rules and regulations, policies and procedures, oversight of Medical Staff departmental and committee functions, oversight of all processes for dealing with disruptive and impaired providers, and the oversight of all credentialing matters for the Medical Staff.

    Qualifications

    • Requires a Medical degree from an accredited University.
    • Five years of clinical practice and experience.
    • One (1) year of supervisory experience.
    • Three (3) years of experience as a board-certified MD.

    Education and/or Experience

    Preference will be given to work experience in a public health or community clinic setting, previous work experience as a Chief Medical Officer/Medical Director, completion of an accredited primary care residency program, or Board Certification (or eligible) in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.

    License and/or Certification

    Current licensure as an MD/DO to practice in the State of Florida Department of Health, Division of Medical Quality Assurance. Current DEA, DPS certification
