    OVERVIEW:

    It is an exciting time for RED VELVET, as we’ve pivoted from the DMC model and are focusing on experience strategy, fostering strong client relationships and end-to-end brand solutions via digital, hybrid and live experiences. Never has marketing been more important to organizations, so to keep up demands, we are looking to round out our marketing team. We’re looking for a “swiss army knife” of sorts who can touch multiple facets of the marketing funnel and who possesses a wide range of skills and characteristics. We’re truly looking for a unicorn!

    At a high level, the Associate Marketing Manager or Marketing Manager is responsible for putting RED VELVET’s best face forward to the world as well as developing plans to increase interest in the brand and our services. This person oversees all marketing efforts, including management of social media, the RED VELVET website and outbound and promotional marketing efforts, drawing on the Business Development team for support and input, where needed.

    We’re located in Austin, Texas and will entertain remote but would also ideally like this person to consider relocation. We're hoping this person will join our team in Summer 2021.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Content Strategy & Calendar

    Responsible - with the Sr. Director of Business Development - for developing annual marketing and content strategy, including goals for the year

    Complete and maintain the MASTER content calendar, tracking the plan for all active and upcoming channels to be activated, where/when appropriate

    Partner with Account team to stay ahead of upcoming programs that can be effectively marketed

    Assist in development of brief for photographer and/or videographer to capture marketing assets and brief in advance of program (AM to write the brief)

    Incorporate program highlights into content calendar and identify opportunities for case studies that can be featured on the website, in marketing materials or proposals

    Partner with Ops team to promote community involvement. Typically a small campaign to encourage the community to gather donations for local non-profit.

    RED VELVET Website

    Ensure website design is on brand (in accordance with our style guide and website style sheet)

    Update website feed with interesting and relevant content from channels, including “Insights” (blog), program showcases, network updates and industry highlights

    Update “Insights” page

    Publish periodic, consistent blog posts written by designated team member (in accordance to the content calendar)

    Brainstorm insight topics with manager and CEO

    Comment, edit, proofread & add additional internal & external links

    Select compelling header image related to topic

    Publish

    Promote on channels

    Manage/approve comments

    Respond or inform necessary parties to respond

    E.g., if comments are sales or hiring, inform account team or ops

    Update “Work” section when there is a new case study to highlight

    Keep plugins & other Squarespace items up to date

    Analyze user data with Google Analytics (with assistance from team) and make recommendations based on what’s discovered

    Update careers section after Careers Specialist publishes on CareerPlug

    Update team section with new hires after the person has been with the company for three (3) months

    Social Media

    Ensure social media posts and updates are on brand and in accordance with our style guide)

    Plan/schedule daily content calendar and review with Sr. Director of Business Development as FYI and/or to discuss other cross-promotional opportunities

    Take advantage of opportunities to feature partners/clients/colleagues on our social channels via gift-giving, thank you’s, shout-outs, etc.

    Respond to general direct messages and comments

    Reach out to team members to share content from their daily networking outings or behind the scenes of event planning

    RED VELVET Internal and External Marketing Events/Efforts

    Own the creative asset library, keeping it updated with any brand evolution we may add/modify

    Develop creative assets for internal events and marketing-related events, with support from Creative team

    Manage the internal Adobe Creative Library for Creative team to use.

    Develop creative assets for external marketing efforts (to-date this is only LinkedIn)

    Assist Director of People & Culture with career fair ideation; how to stand out from the crowd

    Manage photographer and videographer relationships, including headshots.

    Lead onsite communications where necessary/pre-determined

    Manage annual outbound branded marketing campaigns with support from the Business Development team

    Manage client prospect gift bags, leveraging the Business Development team for fresh ideas and implementation

    Client Events-Related

    Assist Account Leads with photography shot list if photos are being used for marketing purposes (vs client hired)

    Lead videography prep and onsite communication, manage photography prep/communication when necessary

    Manage event content/assets after event to ensure each is properly loaded to Dropbox and Google Drive, including event details, keywords & notes about any sharing restrictions, as needed

    Serve as “go-to” for any adhoc photo requests from press, PR or Visit Austin

    Awards

    Stay ahead of current awards and new awards, notifying leadership when appropriate

    Inform team and specific pods when a fitting award for their event has been identified

    Counsel team on most compelling photos to include in submission, as well as copy

    Lead awards submissions with input from leadership and/or any other relevant team member

    Manage finances related to general awards

    Onboarding new hires

    Get new hire acclimated with RED VELVET brand guidelines, typefaces & email signature (first week)

    Share marketing team responsibilities as part of bootcamp curriculum, coordinate new hire headshots, co-create website bio (third month)

    Order business cards and RED VELVET apparel after three months of employment

    Additional office and CEO marketing needs, as requested
