DESIGN ENGINEER (CIVIL – LAND DEVELOPMENT), WESTFIELD, NJ 07090

We are looking for a licensed professional civil engineer to join a 50-person design-build construction firm at our beautiful office in Westfield, NJ. We are seeking someone with the ability to fill a vacancy and hit the ground running in a permanent role.

This individual will work with other civil design engineers and project teams and report to the VP of Engineering.

In the COVID-19 environment, this individual may be expected to operate remotely occasionally. This requires excellent organization and communication skills, a self-starter who is results oriented, and someone with a do what it takes attitude with respect to meeting project deliverable deadlines.

Candidates will be required to assist with the engineering workload including but not limited to:

· Performing zoning analysis, and concept plan preparation including the development of feasibility and due diligence reports.

· Preparing site plans including layout, grading, drainage, utility, soil erosion, lighting, landscaping, and details.

· Preparing professional engineering reports such as drainage reports, and environmental impact statements.

· Preparing exhibits for planning/zoning board presentation.

· Project management skills for tracking and reporting with respect to deadlines.

· Professional testimony at public hearings.

· Communication skills to provide effective and professional communication with internal and external team members, authorities having jurisdiction, and clients.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

CANDIDATE MUST HAVE:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering

· NJ PE License

· Land Development Design and Approval experience

· 7-15 years of experience

· Expertise in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and mastery of HydroCAD

· Proficiency with MS Office programs: Outlook, Word, Excel

· Knowledge of stormwater and other land use regulations

IT IS PREFERRED THAT CANDIDATE HAVE:

· Experience with car dealerships and industrial warehouses

· Proficiency with MS Project
