    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    Rende Progress Capital [RPC], a not-for-profit racial equity loan fund and award-winning emerging Community Development Financial Institution specializing in providing racial equity small business loans and services to Grand Rapids, Michigan Excluded Entrepreneurs of Color is hiring for the Opportunity and Lending Officer position to direct activities of loan application processes, loan application assistance to applicants, loan origination and aspects of underwriting for small business loan applications of Excluded Entrepreneurs. Excluded Entrepreneurs are African-Americans, Latino, Asians, Native Americans and Immigrants who face barriers to conventional lending due to real or perceived racial bias.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Responsible for providing opportunities in lending for RPC customers by providing them with high-quality and culturally competent services that will help them in their recommendation of loans for approval.

    • Assisting applicants with required production of essential application information for loan underwriting for conventional Community Development Financial Institution [CDFI] loan considerations and our racial equity criteria.

    • Work with loan customers to identify their financial goals and to find ways of reaching those goals.

    • Confer with the RPC Lending Director and other RPC staff and management to aid in resolving application problems, address applicant needs or complaints and take appropriate action to resolve them.

    • Work with portfolio manager to address compliance issues, delinquency and any required modifications to loan terms and conditions.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • At least 3 to 5 years in underwriting, loan origination, commercial lending at a bank, credit union or Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFI).

    • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business management or a related field.

    • Computer skills are required and a high proficiency with industry technology to include sales and lending applications to operate systems for loan origination and finance.
