Job Description

Our client is looking for a CPA OR EA who has a regional or large local CPA firm background. Is verse in CALIFORNIA TAX COMPLIANCE and can prepare complex returns, review returns prepared by others, and handle tax planning and projections. Someone who can work directly with clients and partners to complete tax returns and research tax issues. They want someone who can mentor/train others and manage a list of tax returns and projects moving to completion in a timely manner. They want a professional who can figure things out, who wants to learn new stuff, use new tools, and figure a better way to get things done while maintaining high quality. And lastly, they are looking for someone who likes to work in a friendly environment; says please and thank you, and pitches in to help where help is needed.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years’ experience working on tax returns at a regional or large local CPA firm
• Experience with complex tax preparing, primary tax return review, tax planning, and mentoring tax prep staff if issues arise
• Knowledge of Federal and CA laws is required
• Experience supervising a team
• CPA or EA a must!
• Use of Lacerte tax software a plus
• Possess excellent communication skills - know how to explain tax concepts to staff and clients, and how to research tax questions and clearly summarize the results.
• Experience working independently on multiple assignments/engagement
• Leadership skills, team player, hands-on, self-driven, and problem-solver
• Interest in working on some general accounting and other CPA firm services is a plus but definitely not required.

Additional Information

Salary: $95,000 to $150,000 DOE
