    We are seeking an experienced and passionate Retail Operations Manager to oversee multi-unit bakery operations within the Twin Cities Metro. This leader will ensure operational excellence, team development, brand consistency and financial performance across all locations. The ideal candidate is deeply rooted in hospitality, has a sharp operational mindset and a strong appreciation for quality bakery products and the teams that make them.

    The Retail Operations Manager oversees a multi-unit bakery operation. This leader ensures operational excellence, team development, brand consistency and financial performance across all locations. This individual is deeply rooted in hospitality, has a sharp operational mindset and a strong appreciation for quality bakery products and the teams that make them.

    Duties/Responsibilities: Operational Leadership:

    Oversee daily operations of multiple bakery locations; ensuring each operates efficiently and in alignment with company standards.

    Maintain high excellence for product quality, customer experience and store cleanliness.

    Ensure consistency in processes, recipes and service across all bakeries.

    Team Management and Development:

    Lead, coach and support store leadership teams.

    Recruit, hire and train high-performing teams.

    Foster a positive, inclusive and motivating workplace culture.

    Conduct regular check-ins, performance reviews and succession planning.

    Financial Oversight:

    Manage budgets, labor and cost of goods to meet or exceed financial targets.

    Analyze P&Ls and KPIs to drive operational decisions and identify areas for improvement.

    Collaborate with finance to build accurate forecasts and identify growth opportunities.

    Customer and Community Focus:

    Ensure a consistently exceptional customer experience in every location.

    Respond promptly and professionally to customer feedback.

    Represent the brand in the local community and support community engagement initiatives.

    Compliance and Safety:

    Ensure all locations are compliant with health, safety and food regulations.

    Implement and enforce company policies, procedures and standards.

    Strategic Growth and Innovation:

    Partner with senior leadership to identify opportunities for service improvements.

    Drive operational innovations and contribute to strategic planning.

    Support the rollout of seasonal menus, product launches and promotional initiatives.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    Deep knowledge of bakery operations, food safety and service standards.

    Proven ability to manage budgets, interpret financial reports and meet business goals.

    Excellent communication and organizational skills.

    Flexible and willing to travel regularly between bakery locations.

    Passion for great food, hospitality and leading from the front.

    Experience scaling operations in a growth-stage company.

    Bilingual skills (Spanish/English or other) a plus.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    Hiring, training and supervising front of house staff.

    Strong leadership, coaching and team development skills.

    Education and Experience:

    5+ years of multi-unit management experience, preferably in bakery, café or fast-casual environments.

    Proven experience in bakery operations, including production, inventory, staff supervision and customer service.

    Experience in hiring, training, and developing staff in a fast-paced food service environment.

    Knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance standards.

    Physical Requirements:

    Ability to stand and walk for long periods (up to 8–10 hours per day).

    Frequent bending, lifting and carrying of items up to 50 pounds (e.g., product trays, boxes of supplies).

    Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment that may include exposure to heat, ovens and food preparation equipment.

    Ability to multitask and remain physically and mentally alert during busy operational hours.

    Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and holidays as needed to support bakery operations.

    Work Environment: This position operates in a fast-paced, high-energy kitchen environment where teamwork, efficiency and attention to detail are essential. The role requires standing for extended periods, working near hot equipment, handling sharp tools and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. Weekend, evening and holiday shifts may be required, depending on business needs. The work setting emphasizes collaboration, adaptability and a commitment to delivering consistent, high-quality food service.
