    The RFP and Proposal Writer defines, develops, and oversees the strategy and tactical delivery of RFPs and Proposals to pitch new deals. This includes analyzing market opportunities, customer trends, monitoring competitive positioning, and evolving the narrative around Everspring's go-to-market approaches.

    This individual will drive efforts to enhance Everspring's market position and grow Everspring's revenue streams by activating their expert ability to draft RFP responses and Proposals that reflect Everspring's unique market position, capturing how Everspring's suite of products and solutions can best meet market needs, and by aligning our proposal strategy with market demand.

    Because the success of client-facing proposals hinges on highly effective communication, the person in this role must demonstrate extraordinary writing skills, professional communication experience, expert-level attention to detail and time management skills, and abundant enthusiasm for meticulous and thoughtful work-product. This person is a master message maker who can listen carefully, persuade, and deliver written arguments that frame business and market opportunities. They must be a writer by trade and understand the education industry, the technology space, and must be fluent in business language and concepts. The role requires extensive and expert use of technology, including AI tools, Salesforce, and Confluence, to manage content and workflows.

    This position reports to the Chief Sales Officer and is located in Chicago, IL. We offer a hybrid work environment with 3 days in-the-office required each week.

    The ideal candidate:

    • Possesses outstanding oral and written communication skills

    • Has 5-years of experience writing RFP responses and proposals

    • Loves writing: Has experience writing short and long form

    • Has a demonstrated track record creating compelling, clear, and persuasive sales and marketing materials

    • Has experience in higher education writing, specifically working with colleges and universities in the US, as well as with industry professionals

    • Has a demonstrated track record of writing for different audiences and at different levels of granularity

    • Has experience and is comfortable working with a wide range of academic and marketing content

    • Is a natural collaborator and has the ability to work independently

    • Interacts with others using sound judgment, good humor, and consistent fairness in a fast-paced environment

    • Is motivated by a passion to produce consistent results

    • Is a highly responsible individual, who takes ownership and can accomplish tough tasks

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as a subject matter expert in the areas of communication and message creation

    • Interpret complex RFP requirements and translate them into compliant, persuasive response frameworks

    • Maintain and update proposal libraries, boilerplate content, case studies, and other reusable materials

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with subject matter experts in technology, marketing, academics, operations, and leadership to gather content and develop accurate, compelling proposals

    • Track deliverables and follow up with contributors to ensure tight deadlines are met

    • Manage the RFP response process by collecting information and writing first-and-final drafts

    • Support executive leadership by creating materials that support business development initiatives

    • Curate and assist the Sales team in preparing for presentations and meetings

    • Study the business and become an evangelist for our approach, model, and outcomes

    • Edit and proofread proposal content for accuracy, consistency, grammar, tone, and brand alignment.

    • Assist in writing reports, briefs, and strategic documentation for internal purposes and for clients

    Requirements:

    • 5+ years' experience in sales writing, communications, or marketing

    • Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, especially in English, Journalism, Communications, or other writing-intensive disciplines

    • Ability to create narratives supported by evidence

    • Familiarity with Higher Education and Online Education

    • Demonstrated ability to work across levels and functions of complex organizations

    • Superior writing skills

    Position Location: Illinois

    The base salary hiring range for this position is: $ 72,000 to $80,000 annually.

    Compensation offered at Everspring will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
