Job Description
As a Controller, the incumbent will be responsible for financial reporting, cost accounting, reporting services and banking services. This includes preparation of annual budgets and quarterly reporting packages.
Essential job functions:
Timely and accurate preparation of monthly and quarterly reporting packages
Analysis of operating results and explanations/suggestions for improvement
Develop annual budget
Coordinate banking activities
Develop and evaluate overhead rates for cost accounting & inventory control
Management and development of accounting/finance team
Product cost reporting
Interaction with all levels of the company, its customers, vendors and external agencies
Preparation of monthly income statements, balance sheets, cash flow analysis and analysis of operating results
Reconciling general ledger accounts to subsidiary reports and analysis of trends to explain variances from plan
Income tax and sales tax compliance
Required skills:
5+ years of experience in the areas of cost accounting and financial reporting
3+ years of experience managing finance and/or accounting department
A CPA preferred
MUST have 2+ years of public accounting experience
Experience working in manufacturing; preferably in medical devices
Required Qualifications:
Solid understanding of internal controls and management reporting
Computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, data base applications and working knowledge of an integrated mainframe system
Strong interpersonal skills
Able to succeed in highly regulated compliance oriented environment while still providing service excellence
Other Required Skills:
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form Scope:
