    Job Description

    Construction company in Northeast / Atlanta Metro Georgia is seeking an Estimator which may or may not have interest in Project Management as well. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated and a quick learner to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. Additionally, candidate must be detail oriented and possess a strong sense of urgency. The candidate must have excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, time management, problem-solving and computer skills. The candidate will market services, build relationships with sub-contractors, clients and prospective clients, handle all project bid meetings and negotiations, and assist with writing the scope of work for each sub-contractor’s contract. Performance based bonus plan. Position Responsibilities 1.Gain thorough understanding of business through training which will encompass but not be limited to operational procedures and expectations, familiarization of existing clients, software applications, etc. 2.Compile sub-contractor ITB lists for each specific project. 3.Review, analyze and perform take-offs of plans provided by potential customers using established forms and methods of the company. 4.Attend pre-bid meetings (where appropriate) or gather additional information required to provide estimate for job. 5.Gather and compile take-off data using estimating software tool. 6.Request and enter material and labor pricing from sub-contractors and vendors to compile estimates. 7. Review and qualify bids. 8.Schedule and conduct review meetings with senior-level Project Manager to present proposed estimate and gather feedback. 9.Update estimate based on feedback and submit estimate for final approval. 10.Upon approval of estimate, submit proposal to owner. 11.Support Project Managers in responding to customer inquiries on proposal. 12.When project is awarded, support Project Managers in reviewing the scope of the contract. 13.Communicate effectively and professionally with internal peers and executives, as well as customer representatives. 14.Complete tasks according to assigned schedule while delivering high-quality work products. 15.Develop relationships with current and prospective clients and market company construction services. Requirements and Qualifications 1.Experience in estimating projects (reviewing, understanding, and performing take-offs on architectural plans; pricing/securing materials and sub-contractors and building final job estimates). 2.Working knowledge and competence with the Microsoft Office suite of products (includes Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Experience with Microsoft Project is preferred. 3.Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented and willing to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. 4.Must work well independently or in a team environment. 5.Excellent communication (verbal and written), time management, organizational and problem-solving skills required. 6.Ability to prioritize tasks and make decisions within established guidelines and policies. 7.Able to work effectively with existing and prospective clients establishing excellent relationships. 8.Ability to effectively market company construction services. Requirements for Consideration 1.Candidate must be 18 years or older. 2.Candidate must be willing to take a drug test as part of the selection process. 3.Candidate must be willing to submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process. 4.Candidate must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States. 5.Candidate must be willing to travel (limited) by car or plane and have a valid Driver’s License. 6. Candidate will work on a trial basis for up to 90 days before position is considerate permanent.
