Sierra Sunrise is an innovative, low-barrier, service enhanced emergency shelter serving Fresno County. Sierra Sunrise provides onsite mental health services, case management, peer support and housing navigation to support individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
****Position Summary
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will play a pivotal role in providing healthcare services to clients with behavioral health needs within a low barrier shelter setting. The CNA will work with the Care Teams to assess client’s physical needs, including assisting with daily living skills and wound care.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide compassionate and person-centered care to individuals with behavioral health needs.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, meals, and mobility.
- Collaborate with the nursing and mental health team to implement individualized care plans.
- Assist in the implementation of behavioral interventions and crisis management strategies.
- Support clients in engaging with therapeutic activities and programs.
- Accurately document client interactions, care provided, and any observed changes in behavior or health.
- Respond calmly and effectively to behavioral health crises, following established protocols.
- Collaborate with supervisory and mental health staff to implement crisis intervention strategies.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Current and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
- Previous experience working with individuals with behavioral health needs preferred
