    Potter League for Animals is a nonprofit animal welfare organization that’s been serving Rhode Island for over 90 years. Our veterinary team provides lifesaving medical care, surgery, and population health services for approximately 2,000 shelter animals annually at our Animal Care & Adoption Center in Middletown, RI.

    Potter League for Animals is seeking an experienced Shelter Veterinarian to join our collaborative, mission-driven team. This role is well suited for a veterinarian who enjoys surgery, values flexibility, and is passionate about making a direct impact through shelter medicine. You will often serve as the primary veterinarian on site with strong technician and leadership support.

    Our Shelter:

    • Separate dog and cat exam rooms
    • Surgery suite, prep area, and isolation space
    • 26 dog kennels and 60 cat housing spaces (small-room model, not traditional kennels)
    • 2 full-time veterinary technicians with strong surgical support
    • Additional kennel staff and dedicated volunteers
    • Supportive, practical, and mission-focused work environment
    • No weekends. No on-call.
