Xavier University’s Student Success Center is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Director, Student Success and Goa. The focus of this position is to provide success coaching to undergraduate students, coordinate the first-year program (Goa), and assist with the tutoring and Supplemental Instruction (SI) programs within the Office of Academic Support. We welcome candidates who thrive in a workplace where diverse backgrounds and perspectives are encouraged and embraced. This position will report to the Director, Student Learning Support and Goa.

The Assistant Director provides developmental, appreciative and intrusive coaching to their caseload of students. This position will serve as primary success coach to a caseload of students and deploy strategic communication and appointment campaigns, using a differentiated care approach to support students. Through the understanding of persistence research and predictive modeling, the Assistant Director will proactively and strategically outreach to all students. In addition to one-on-one success coaching sessions, the Assistant Director will offer group coaching and workshops. What do I want to accomplish here? This position will be responsible for ensuring that each GOA section is staffed and that lesson plans incorporate active/experiential pedagogies. This position will ensure students register for Goa in the appropriate semesters, assist in the evaluation and assessment of the GOA program, and report on student learning outcomes.

This position will teach GOA, assist with the tutoring and Supplemental Instruction programs that are provided through the Office of Academic Support, create and publish reports, use data to effectively inform decisions, aid in the supervision of student staff, and serve on committees.
