Job Description
The Freight Claims Manager manages all administration throughout the lifecycle of cargo claims, acting as a liaison between our transportation providers, customers, claim adjusters, legal representatives, and internal operations and sales teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Receive, process, and manage all cargo claims in a timely manner.
- Drives claims toward judicious resolution through effective and timely communication with all relevant parties during a claim’s lifecycle.
- Keeps current on customer contracts and transportation and cargo laws.
- Provides insight on prospective client load agreements to best protect the interest of the Company in respect to claims liability.
- Develop relationships with internal staff and external customer decision-makers.
- Support leadership by identifying potential problems, working toward solutions, accepting added duties and or responsibilities as needed.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for questions on operations’ best practices, broker and carrier liability, and all overage, shortage, and damage issues.
- Assists the CEO and CFO with:
- Maintaining all claims documentation current (real-time)
- Maintains claims' profiles updates at all times.
- Obtains appropriate insurance assignments for each MC Authority
PREFERRED WORK EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Associates or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Transportation industry experience required (4+ years).
- Prior cargo claims experience required (3+ years).
- Familiarity with claims on produce or perishable products and exempt commodities is preferred.
- Customer service or office experience (2+ years).
- Management experience preferred (3+ years).
- Strong customer service and professional communication skills.
- Self-motivated, resourceful, and independent team member.
- Decisive problem-solver with a demeanor to handle critical issues with tact and speed.
- Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
