    The CBIC Contrac Pac product is seeking a General Liability Underwriter. This position handles a high volume workflow, demanding attention to detail, quality service, and timely turn-around. 

     

    • Under general management, support the underwriting functions of small contractor accounts.
    • Analyze renewal accounts for profitability and acceptability based on underwriting guidelines.
    • Assist with requests for issuance, endorsements, cancellations, reinstatements and audits.
    • Assist in onboarding newly appointed producers via introduction phone calls, office visits, and appetite/program overview presentations
    • Build relationships with agents and other contacts.
    • Assist with special projects or other duties as needed.

     

     

     

    NOTE: This position may be based in any of the following RLI Offices: Peoria, IL - Chicago, IL - Dallas, TX - Bala Cynwyd, PA - Mt. Laurel, NJ - Seattle, WA or Tempe, AZ

     

      

     

      

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    • Ability to use analytical methods in underwriting processes to find workable solutions.
    • Effective written and verbal skills to communicate underwriting matters and recommendations with agents and internal contacts.
    • Ability to generate innovative solutions within the underwriting department.
    • Ability to use software to summarize and analyze large amounts of data.
    • Ability to make and field phone calls with distribution partners on a daily basis.

    Required Experience

     

    • Requires a bachelor’s degree in business, insurance, or a related field and 1-3 years of experience in a similar position.
    • Previous insurance industry experience preferred.
