    RLI is looking for an intern to work in our Risk Services department, beginning January 2020. The internship will continue through Summer 2020, followed by an opportunity to work through the 2020/2021 academic school year. This position will be in our Peoria, IL Home Office. Work hours during the school year are flexible between 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday, dependent on class schedule and full-time hours during the summer. 

     

    Our intern will provide pre-Quote catastrophe modeling analysis for Marine risks on a timely basis. Once risk is bound, coding the risk characteristics into the cat model. Capturing fixed location risk characteristics for all fixed locations for support of reinsurance. Monitoring and updating forms database for inland marine

     

     

    Required Skills

     

    • Must possess good analytical and technical skills
    • Must be detail-oriented
    • Excellent written and verbal communication
    • Working knowledge of MS Office (i.e. Excel and Access or SQL)
    • Good organization skills
    • Self-motivated and task-oriented

    Required Experience

     

    • Sophomore/Junior working towards a degree in Risk Management, Insurance or Business majors are preferred.

    • Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative GPA
