    Job Description

    INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST

    RMEC is a growing, full-service environmental, safety, and industrial-hygiene (IH) consulting firm that has been serving the intermountain west and USA for over 21 years. RMEC is looking for a motivated early career IH professional who can provide safety and IH inspection services for our clients throughout the northern central United States. Ideal personnel will be located in Minnesota (Minneapolis Area) or Wisconsin (Milwaukee Area); however, other candidates located in Illinois, Iowa or the Dakotas are also desirable.

    THIS IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO WORK REMOTELY AND INDEPENDENTLY WHILE GAINING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE UNDER THE DIRECTION OF A CIH. Job will be a remote employee performing IH assessments at facilities throughout a 5 or 6 state region - BASED AT HOME! Reimbursement for personnel vehicle usage ($0.61/mile) and per diem will be provided for all travel.

    SCIENCE/SAFETY DEGREE REQUIRED AND EXPERIENCE IN INDUSTRIAL HYGIENE MONITORING IS REQUIRED. This is a great opportunity to obtain diverse experience with industrial hygiene that could lead to certification as a CIH. VACATION, HEALTH, DENTAL & 401(K) BENEFITS.

    GENERAL DUTIES:

    • Performing safety and industrial hygiene program and field audits in order to maintain OSHA compliance during industrial activities.
    • Perform basic indoor air quality investigations.
    • Perform IH noise and ventilation monitoring with little supervision at client sites.
    • Prepare written reports.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Ideal applicant will be an early career professional with 3-5 years of safety/industrial hygiene experience.
    • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to meet and interface with facility management personnel.
    • Must be a strong proponent of workplace safety and be knowledgeable of OSHA and other relevant regulations and standards.
    • Must be able to work well with clients and co-workers.
    • Job will be up to 66% travel.
    • BS degree in public health, industrial hygiene, chemistry, biology, environmental science, or a related field IS REQUIRED.
    • Applicants must possess a current drivers license and have their own reliable transportation between their home and sites throughout the region.
    • The job requires that applicants are able to perform Industrial Hygiene and Safety assessments in plant areas. This may require carrying scientific equipment exceeding 30 pounds, climbing stairs and ladders, standing for long periods of time, or performing other physical labor related to assigned tasks.
    • Must be able to pass drug and background screening check.
