Position Summary
The RN Clinical Lead oversees clinical operations and provides leadership support to the clinic team (Medical Assistant, Athletic Trainers and Xray) while remaining actively involved in patient care. Approximately 50% of this role involves direct patient care, with the remaining 50% focused on leadership, workflow refinement, and provider support. AHI is committed to the ongoing development and mentorship of its leadership team.
Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care, including rooming, vital signs, documentation, and clinical support, while assisting with clinic coverage as needed.
Serve as a clinical leader and primary resource for clinic team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
Oversee clinic team staffing operations, including scheduling, timecard approval, and participation in recruitment activities such as candidate screening and interviewing.
Provide onboarding, training, coaching, and ongoing performance evaluation for clinic team, including quarterly one-on-ones and annual reviews.
Support interns and fellows in clinic, including training on documentation standards and clinical responsibilities.
Ensure providers are supported and informed of factors impacting patient flow and clinic operations.
Lead workflow optimization and continuous process improvement initiatives, including development and tracking of performance metrics.
Monitor and evaluate team performance through quarterly metrics and quality measurements to support efficiency and high standards of patient care.
Serve as the EHR superuser and clinical troubleshooting resource.
Collaborate with practice leadership and cross-functional departments on operational initiatives and projects.
Embody and promote AHI’s patient-centered care philosophy in all clinical and operational activities.
Education, Experience, and Licensure Required
Active Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license required
Outpatient and/or orthopedic experience preferred
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to read/write proficiently in English; professional appearance required
