Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Position Overview

A top healthcare client in Roanoke, Virginia is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join their Emergency Department team. This fast-paced, high-acuity environment requires nurses who are confident, quick-thinking, and committed to delivering exceptional care to patients of all ages during critical moments.

As a member of the emergency care team, you will play a vital role in assessing, stabilizing, and treating patients while collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and effective care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform age-specific assessments upon admission and throughout the patient's stay, using findings to guide individualized care plans
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and adjust care strategies based on changing conditions
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, documenting all interventions using electronic medical records (EPIC)
• Apply critical thinking and delegation skills to manage urgent and complex patient needs
• Continuously evaluate patient outcomes and revise care plans to support optimal recovery

Qualifications

Education:

• Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing or approved program eligible for Virginia RN licensure exam

Licensure/Certification:

• Current RN license in Virginia or eligibility to obtain
• CPR certification required
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications as applicable

Additional Requirements:

• Proficiency in EPIC or similar electronic medical record systems
• Successful completion of orientation and competency assessments
• Ability to meet essential job functions and thrive in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment
