Job Description
Overview
We are seeking an experienced RN Manager – Cardiovascular Prep & Recovery to lead cardiac observation, echocardiography (ECHO), and stress testing services within an acute care hospital setting.
This leadership role oversees pre- and post-cardiac testing services and is responsible for clinical quality, operational management, regulatory compliance, staff development, and financial performance. The ideal candidate brings strong cardiology and/or critical care experience, proven leadership stability, and a track record of team engagement and operational excellence.
Responsibilities
Clinical & Operational Leadership
Oversee daily operations of cardiovascular prep and recovery services, including cardiac observation, ECHO, and stress testing areas.
Ensure high-quality, patient-centered care across the continuum of cardiovascular services.
Maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and patient safety standards.
Coordinate services within the department and across hospital service lines.
Serve as a clinical resource and liaison to medical staff.
Staff Leadership & Development
Recruit, hire, orient, and evaluate department personnel.
Provide ongoing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
Ensure appropriate staffing levels and competencies to meet patient care needs.
Oversee disciplinary processes and human resource matters when necessary.
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and longevity.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
Maintain departmental operations within established budget parameters.
Monitor productivity and performance metrics.
Support strategic initiatives aligned with hospital objectives.
Develop, implement, and evaluate department policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current Missouri RN license or multistate compact RN license.
Minimum of 2 years leadership experience in a related cardiovascular or critical care setting.
Strong cardiology background required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
ACLS certification (within required timeframe).
Preferred
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience leading cardiac observation, ECHO, or stress testing services.
Demonstrated history of longevity and progressive leadership growth.
