Job Description
Position Highlights:
Full-time, salaried leadership role with no weekend or on-call requirement
Oversee a 26-bed Trauma ICU unit with 50 FTEs
Opportunity to help shape a new ECMO program
Collaborate with a dedicated Trauma Program leader (no responsibility for trauma program management)
Responsibilities:
Provide 24/7 accountability and leadership for Trauma ICU operations
Oversee nursing care standards, staffing, and fiscal planning
Lead quality initiatives: VAP prevention, wound care, CAUTI reduction, falls prevention
Mentor and round with staff, fostering a supportive teaching environment
Utilize Meditech, EKG interpretation, vasoactive medication oversight, ventilator management
Qualifications
Current RN license in Kansas (or compact license eligible)
BSN required or must be willing to obtain within a specified timeframe
BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association or Red Cross)
Minimum 3 years of recent ICU/Critical Care RN experience
Leadership experience required (CNCs considered)
Preferred Experience:
Background in trauma, open-heart, or stroke programs
Strong clinical rounding and staff development abilities
