Job Summary
5 Star Medical Staffing is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week travel assignment in the NICU Float Pool in Los Angeles, California. This role involves delivering coordinated care according to established standards and the nursing process. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong critical thinking, professional discretion, and leadership while collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
This position supports the Float Pool department, which includes education and non-productive hours. Float Pool nurses should always clock into the unit being worked during their assignment.
Key Responsibilities
· Deliver high-quality, evidence-based nursing care using the nursing process.
· Supervise and delegate duties among various levels of nursing staff.
· Coordinate patient care with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
· Utilize critical thinking and sound judgment in decision-making.
· Ensure compliance with all regulatory and facility safety requirements.
· Document all aspects of care accurately and timely.
· Support patient and family education and discharge planning.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· Licensure: Active RN license in California
· Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
· Experience: Acute care facility experience preferred
· Certifications (Required):
· - Basic Life Support (BLS)
· - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or HeartCode ACLS (HACLS)
· Facility-Specific Certification: Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS)
