Location: Seattle, Washington Employment Type: Full-Time Work Setting: Onsite Schedule: 36 hours/week Shift: 12-hour Night Shifts
Position Overview
We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) to join a Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Seattle. The RN will provide specialized, high-acuity nursing care to neonatal patients while collaborating with physicians and an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
Candidates must have at least 1 full year of actual post-graduation NICU RN experience.
Nursing school clinical rotations do not count.
Nursing residency programs do not count.
Candidates without post-graduation NICU RN experience will not be considered.
Level IV NICU experience is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill neonatal patients.
Assess patients, identify nursing diagnoses, and develop individualized care plans.
Implement and evaluate patient care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
Monitor, document, and communicate changes in patient condition.
Maintain required NICU clinical competencies.
Advocate for safe, ethical, holistic, and family-centered patient care.
Educate and support patients' families according to their needs.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other interdisciplinary team members.
Coordinate care and appropriately delegate responsibilities.
Apply evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes and safety.
Participate in professional development and maintain specialty competencies.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Minimum 1 year of post-graduation NICU RN experience.
Washington State RN License – required upon hire.
BLS – American Heart Association – required upon hire.
NRP – American Academy of Pediatrics – required upon hire.
Preferred Candidate Profile
Level IV NICU experience.
At least 1 year of independent NICU RN practice.
Strong neonatal assessment and critical-care skills.
Excellent patient and family communication.
Strong clinical judgment and prioritization abilities.
Experience working in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
Commitment to patient safety, evidence-based practice, and quality outcomes.
